Chermaine is undergoing accredited Play Therapy Training (accredited by the Association for Play Therapy, USA) and a Master’s student of Counselling at Monash University. Chermaine believes strongly in social justice, and building up children’s inner resilience so they can  face the many different challenges they will face in life.

Chermaine is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and supports them on this journey through being sensitive to the child’s own unique pace and developmental needs. Chermaine believes that child-centred play therapy empowers children’s inner strength. She trusts that play can bridge the gap between the real world reality and the child’s personal world. Through playing out their experiences, children are able to gain understanding and control of their inner selves, which allows them to face the real world with a stronger and healthier self.

Chermaine works closely with parents and caregivers in mindful and positive parenting. She helps carers to understand children’s struggles, inner fears and limitations and how they relate to the child’s concerns. She can also support parents to learn and practise special play time sessions at home (Child Parent Relationship Therapy).
